Rabia Abdul-Hakim, fondly known as Lady Rabia, is an author, speaker, entrepreneur, illustrator, performance poet, master storyteller, advocate for women and the visually impaired, and a real-life heroine from the Cayman Islands, who lives in historic Stratford-Upon -Avon.
She is the visionary owner of ContessaBlack Entertainment, a publishing and media company That creates multicultural family content for books, CSR campaigns, animation, theatrical productions and games. She is also the host of the new, inspirational radio show 'Unleash Your Legend', focusing on helping her listeners, globally, transform their lives to fulfill their highest potential.
She is a member of the University of Wolverhampton's Media Advisory Board, Vision 2020 UK Prevalence Study Project Board, the Saudi-British Society, the UK Society for Storytelling and the Friends of Cayman Core Group .
Working primarily in publishing, media, PR and communications, she has worked with clients in the private and public sectors.
The former Miss Teen Cayman Islands 1986 and 1992 Sportsperson of the Year, became a living luminary in 2011 as the first civilian to execute the largest child recovery mission, rescuing her six children from the Kingdom of Jordan. Her experience was featured at the 2014 TEDx SMB event.
All these accomplishments have been achieved while fighting for her sight.with Keratoconus, a degenerative, corneal disease which can lead to significant visual impairment. Lady Rabia is a community champion for BME eye health where 1 in 2000 Britons are needlessly losing their eyesight each year to Keratoconus, costing the NHS over £5 million.
A powerful brand, she leverages her incredible life experiences and creative talents to engage, educate, consult and collaborate on phenomenal projects and inspire others.
She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics from the University of Tampa.
